라우브(Lauv)는 미국 출신의 가수로 요즘 뜨고 있는 싱어송라이터이자 프로듀서입니다. 캘리포니아의 샌프란시스코에서 태어났습니다. 스포티파이에 곡을 올리기 시작하면서 이름이 알려졌습니다. 본명은 애리 스태프랜스 레프(Ari Staprans Leff)로, 94년생으로 한국 나이 26세입니다. 'Lauv'는 라트비아어로 사자를 뜻하고, 히브리어로 사자라는 뜻인 본명 'Ari'에서 따왔다고 합니다. 라우브의 어머니가 라트비아 분이라고 합니다.

어린 시절부터 음악에 관심이 많아 피아노, 비올라, 기타를 배웠고, 중학생 때부터 작곡을 시작했습니다. 고등학생 때에는 전자 음악을 하면서 밴드에서 연주도 하고 재즈도 배웠습니다. 뉴욕 대학에서 뮤직 테크놀로지(Music Technology)를 전공했으며, 뉴욕대 재학 중, Jay-Z와 저스틴 팀버레이크 등이 녹음하던 Jungle City Studios에서 2년간 인턴 생활을 하기도 했습니다.

라우브는 2015년 EP 앨범 [Lost In The Light]로 데뷔했습니다. 한국에서는 많이 안 알려져 있는지 네이버 프로필에는 나오지 않지만 다음에서 검색하면 상세 정보가 나옵니다. 2019년 1월 24일 트로이 시반과 함께한 싱글 곡 [I'm So Tired...]를 발표했습니다. 2018년에 인도, 싱가포르, 태국, 필리핀, 홍콩, 인도네시아, 일본 등의 아시아 투어를 발표했습니다.  2019년 5월 13일 인도 뭄바이에서 시작해 5월 30일 도쿄에서 막을 내립니다. 4월에는 [Drugs & Internet]을 발표했습니다.

 

5월에 열린 [2019 서울재즈페스티벌]을 위해 처음 한국을 방문했습니다. 5월 8일에 발표된 에릭남의 [Runaway]의 프로듀싱에 참가하며 다양한 활동을 이어나가는 중입니다.
