두아 리파(Dua Lipa)는 영국 런던에서 내어난 알바니아계 영국인 가수로, 부모님이 코소보 알바니아인입니다. 아버지가 록 가수로 활동하셔서 어릴 때부터 음악과 가까웠습니다. 코소보에서 살다가 가수가 되기 위해서 영국으로 돌아왔다고 합니다.

2015년 워너 뮤직과 계약을 맺어 첫 번째 싱글인 [New Love]를 발표했습니다. 큰 성적을 거두지 못하고 두 번째 싱글인 [Be The One]을 발표하는데, 이 앨범이 영국 차트에서 9위를 달성하면서 성공적인 데뷔를 거머쥐게 되었습니다.

2018년 10월에는 블랙핑크와의 컬래버레이션 곡인 [Kiss and Make Up]을 발표했는데, 영국 오피셜 싱글 차트에서 36위를 달성하게 되었습니다. 그때의 인연으로 2019년 5월 뉴저지 주에서 열린 블랙핑크의 뉴어크 콘서트에서 두아 리파가 게스트로 참석해 [Kiss and Make Up]의 합동 무대를 선보이기도 했습니다.
