나오미 스콧은 어머니는 인도, 아버지는 잉글랜드 인으로, 영국의 배우 겸 가수로 활동하고 있습니다. 부모님이 교회의 목사이셔서 처음엔 교회 청소년 밴드에서 음악 활동을 시작했습니다. 대버넌트 파운데이션 스쿨(Davenant Foundation School)에 다니며 뮤지컬과 연극 공연을 하기도 했습니다.

나오미 스콧은 2000 대 1의 경쟁률을 뚫고 알라딘의 자스민 캐릭터에 캐스팅되었습니다. 영화에서도 자스민의 테마곡인 [Speechless]를 직접 불러 그동안 키워온 뛰어난 노래 실력을 선보였습니다. [Speechless]는 원작에서는 없던 OST였는데, 원작에서의 자스민이 수동적인 캐릭터였으나 영화 [알라딘]에서는 자기주장을 명확히 하고 능동적인 캐릭터로 바뀌었다는 것을 보여주는 곡이라고 할 수 있습니다.

[Prince Ali] 멜론 차트에서 탑 100안에 오르기도 했습니다. 알라딘 더빙판의 제목은 [침묵하지 않아]이고, 뮤지컬 배우 민경아가 불렀습니다.
